Hello to all parents/carers from the year 1 team. Welcome back after the summer break. We have a very busy term planned. Each month we will be sending out a bulletin to keep you up to date with the topics we are covering and any important dates or deadlines that you need to know about.
The adults working in Year 1 will be:
Hazel – Miss Costello, Miss Passmore, Mr Kaye (Tuesday-Thursday)
Sycamore – Mrs Thompson, Miss Hullock, Mr Kaye (Monday, Friday), Mrs Gales (Tuesday-Thursday)

We will be linking subjects and topic areas where possible to give your child a balanced and well rounded education. If you wish to discuss your child’s learning Miss Costello and Mrs Thompson will be available Monday, Tuesday and Friday evenings.
Diary Dates:
Every Friday for the Autumn Term starting Friday 18th September we would like to invite parents in to join us for our Early bird session and to read with their child from 8.35 till 8.50. Please drop your child off as normal and enter through the main classroom doors and join them for a shared reading session.
Harvest Festival 20th October 10.15 at Church
KS1 Parents Assembly on 15th October at 9.15 in the hall
End of term Friday 23rd October
Please note:
Hazel class have indoor PE on Thursday, Sycamore have indoor PE on Monday. All children must have their PE kit for that day.
Children will be given spellings each week to learn for the following Friday. Each Friday children will have a spelling test.
Learning logs will be sent home Friday and need to be returned the following Wednesday.
Please remember to read regularly with your child at home.
Children learn best when they are hydrated so please make sure your child has a water bottle in school. We cannot provide cups for safety reasons.
